Million Meals for Haiti, San Francisco

The Salvation Army distributes approximately 1 million meals a week in Haiti and is expecting to continue to do so through the end of the year.

Our partner in this life-saving effort is Numana Inc., headquartered in Kansas. Click here and here for other stories on this blog about The Salvation Army and Numana and their work together to feed the starving in Haiti.

Meal packaging events have been scheduled in many cities in the United States, most recently in Los Angeles here in the West. It took 1,700 volunteers in Los Angeles two twelve-hour days to pack 1 million meals on the two month anniversary of the deadly quake.

San Francisco held their meal packing event this past weekend and with the help of about 2,000 volunteers, is the first location to pack 1 million meals in one (long, tiring, but exciting) 15-hour day!

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers and friends at Numana for their hard work! God bless you.
